Job Responsibilities

a. Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve BRAC’s goals of safeguarding.

b. Act as a resource of support and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

c. Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

d. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.

Job Summary

The incumbent will be responsible to support the formulation and implementation of the communications and advocacy strategies to increase the standing and awareness of BRAC with partners, the media, and the public. He/she will advocate and promote the work of BRAC in Liberia and will also work closely with program teams, Government officials, private sector, nongovernment and civil society organizations.

Key Duties  Support BRAC International’s transformation strategy with appropriate internal and external communication interventions  Increase BRAC’s brand equity and support reputation management  Support BRAC international’s mission and programme priorities  Builds networks and alliances with potential institutions, civil society and other strategic partners, as well as potential members and, in collaboration with the Country Director and Fund Raising Manager.  Build the capacity of Country programme staff for Crisis Communication and Brand Building  Develop internal communications plan and support CD in employee engagement  Support in developing communications strategy for key programmes and work to raise awareness of the Organization, ensuring the general public maintains a favorable image of the organization  Liaise with media outlets to ensure that the appropriate information and messages are reaching the public, including preparing press releases.  Prepare promotional material on the BRAC programmes, including newsletter, website articles, videos, etc  Regularly update, improve and maintain BRAC website for information dissemination  Support the review and editing of programme reports, and other documents  Lead the organization of global events.  Organize training for the staff on effective communications and advocacy  Support in review and development of Country program strategy and  And any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: ● Excellent oral and written communication skills in English ● Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally ● Photographic skills ● Excellent event planning coordination and management skill ● Familiarity with the standards of writing and copy editing ● Must possess excellent organizational skills ● Must have a good network with local media ● Experienced in resource mobilization and fundraising ● Experience in proposal development/writing ● Good analytical and writing skills ● Demonstrated integrity ● Outstanding leadership and team spirit ● High level of coordination, organization and ability to work independently ● Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines ● Excellent knowledge of MS word , PowerPoint, Excel Experience Requirements: ● At least 4 to 5 years’ experience with an international NGO Civil Society Organization ● Educational Requirements: BSc of Arts in Journalism, Mass Communication Public relations, political science BRAC is committed to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
